Having gone through a consecutive 3-day intense culinary competition, the 13th ‘Battle of the Chefs’ had successfully captured an influx of visitors to witness the diversity of culinary arts showcased by local and international professional and student chefs.

Being one of the sponsors of this event, Pacific West had not only showcased the new product development from its R&D dept, but took the opportunity to display its love and care for the children in Seri Cahaya Welfare Home located at Permatang Damar Laut, Bayan Lepas.

John Redding (Pacific West Corporate Development Chef), together with four renowned chefs namely Chef Alan Orreal (Universal Studios Singapore), Chef Amy Beh (Star columnist), Chef Marco Brueshweiler (Thai Chefs Association) and Chef Sabri Hassan (Master Chef Celebrity) hosted a series of charity cooking show to raise fund for the said welfare home. The special cuisine prepared by the passionate chefs had won the applause of the spectators who waited patiently for the opportunity to savour the delicious food prepared by these professional chefs. Targeting to raise RM5,000/- over the 3 days, The`Chef Cook for Charity’ event managed to raise about RM2,300/- and the balance amount was donated by Pacific West to realize the targeted figure.

Present during the cheque presentation ceremony, Puan Sri Sue Dhanarajan (board member) and Mdm T. Kaliamah (co-founder) expressed their heartfelt appreciations to the management of Pacific West for its generosity in donating food cost and money to make this charity event a success. They thanked John Redding and the Pacific West team for their concerted efforts in organising this meaningful event. They also owed their gratitude to all the participating chefs who had spared their precious time hosting the cooking show amidst their busy judging schedule during the competition. Last but not least, they thanked the public for generously donating to this good cause, thus providing financial assistance to their building fund.

We are glad to be able to do our part in helping the children and improve their living. We would carry on our obligations as a responsible corporate entity to continue our efforts in helping the society. We also hope to increase the public awareness in rendering help and assistance to the underprivileged children and old folks through various platform when the opportunity is right.’ said Saw Hai Earn, the CEO of Golden Fresh, brand principal of Pacific West, who presented a mock cheque to Puan Sri Sue, witnessed by the participating chefs, T Kaliamah and the children from Seri Cahaya Welfare Home.
